Fukuoka is the capital city of Fukuoka Prefecture and is situated on the northern shore of the island of Kyushu in Japan, across the Korea Strait from South Korea's Busan.
Fukuoka was selected as one of Newsweek's 10 "Most Dynamic Cities" in its July 2006 issue. It was chosen for its central Asian location, increasing tourism and trade, and a large increase in volume at its sea and airport. Fukuoka has a diverse culture and a wide range of cultural attractions.

School / Course(s): NILS offers a summer program to learn Japanese, short-term Japanese study, and the more common intensive Japanese programs lasting 1 year, 1.5 years,
and 2 years.
School / Course(s): Student dormitory. There is a cafeteria on campus.
School / Course(s): Short-term Japanese courses(3 months) and long-term Japanese courses (1 yr., 1.5 yrs., and 2-year classes) are offered. Short-term classes are for visits of 90 days or less.
Short-term Japanese courses start principally in April and October and consist of class hours of Japanese in total (5 days a week, 4 hours a day).
The Istituto Dante Alighieri has only one objective: to teach and to propagate Italian language and culture throughout the world. Over the years it has become famous for its Italian language courses for foreign students.
