Kyoto is a city in the central part of the island of Honshu, Japan. It has a population close to 1.5 million. Formerly the imperial capital of Japan, it is now the capital of Kyoto Prefecture, as well as a major part of the Osaka-Kobe-Kyoto metropolitan area.

School / Course(s): KICL offers a summer intensive Japanese course which consists of a 4-week intensive Japanese class. The school also offers "Regular Japanese Courses" which are longer-term and divided into four levels, with each level comprised of several Japanese classes. Each course last 6 months.
School / Course(s): Kyoto Minsai Japanese Language School offers a 1.5-yr long Japanese course and a 2-yr long Japanese course. The 1.5-yr long Japanese course starts in mid-April. The 2-yr long Japanese course starts in mid-October.

School / Course(s): The Kyoto YMCA Japanese offers Spring term Japanese courses (April - September) and Fall term Japanese courses (October - March). A summer intensive Japanese class is also offered. Japanese classes are divided into four levels.
School / Course(s): Nihongo Center offers Japanese classes in 6-month terms. There is a Japanese course that starts in the Spring term and a Japanese course that starts in the Fall terms. Students can take Japanese classes for up to 4 terms.
